During two work sessions in June 2025, the Förderkreis reconstructed the section of the south wall of the main residential building that had collapsed following the excavation. As with the work on the eastern curtain wall, we rebuilt the collapsed sections as a dry stone wall. Fabian Vollmer and Marco Gembe, the dry stone wall specialists from the Förderkreis Ruine Turmhölzle, took on the task. The dry stone wall construction was chosen because it is simple and reversible, leaving all options open for future permanent conservation as mortared masonry. Using photographs from the 1981 excavation, the individual stones were identified as far as possible and reinserted into the wall in their original positions. This preserved the original appearance of the wall. The same applies to the narrow window in this area. This slit window served to provide light and ventilation to the ground floor of the building. The work has halted further deterioration of the wall.
